Temporary
fibre optic lighting system, commissioned by Midland
& City Developments for their award winning one million
pound penthouse suite of King Edwards Wharf, an urban
housing development in Birmingham city centre. Twenty
two lensed fibre optic cables project kinetic planet
images onto the windows of the penthouse. The system
is controlled by a photo electric cell and powered by
a single 150watt lamp. Throughout the hours of darkness
the planet-like discs of moving light change from red
to yellow, to green, to blue.
